Nick Runge

Hello, Nick Runge here. My professional illustration career began in late 2003. While working with writer Mike Baron on several educational comic properties, the comic book field began to open up, and by 2005 Mike and I were working on Detonator (Image). It was just a small, “fill-in” job for me, but it opened the door.

2006 brought with it a graphic novel called Black Ice, in which I penciled the first half and split art duties with Lee Oaks. In 2007, I began working for IDW as a cover artist on the Badger comic. Since then, I’ve done over 40 covers for IDW, including titles such as Terminator Salvation, Angel, Star Trek, Fallen Angel, and many, many Ghostbusters covers. In 2008, it was cover work and monthly interior pencils for Angel: After the Fall that kept me busy. (Issues #9-11)

In 2009, I penciled a Superman Story called “Man of Snow” for the DC Universe Holiday Special. Boom! Studios also hired me to do 4 covers for the Farscape- Scorpius line (variant covers-released in 2010)

This year has brought more Ghostbusters work, which is my favorite property, and in Feb., the GB Valentines day one-shot was released by IDW with my variant covers. June was the month for the GB 4th of July one-shot, and my most recent work will be released in Oct.. It’s the variant cover to Ghostbusters: Halloween Special, written by Peter David.
